Invitations

Invitations

For this you will need gold paper, power point, printer, laminator laminator sheets(pound land)

First things first the invitations. I designed Mia's invitations in power point(PP) as i find this easy to use. I did a basic google search for an out line border then copied and pasted it in to PP.

Then I went to http://www.dafont.com/willywonka.font to get the wonka font I needed this was free.  I didn't down load it as I only needed one sentence so I put in willy wonka. I then pressed the print screen button on my computer (which just copy's what is on the screen) then pasted it in to PP and cropped it down to size. I finished buy adding a text box and inputting all the details I needed.

I put on Mia's invites:

Greetings to you the finder of this lucky Golden Ticket from NAME.

Please present this ticket at the factory doors on the DATE to celebrate NAME 8th Birthday.
In your wildest dreams you can not imagine the marvelous surprises that awaits you.
If you get a little lost on the way follow the Oompa Lumpas (Im making little oompa Lumpas for sign post on the day) Will put how to make them soon.

I have ordered A4 gold pearlescent paper from ebay at £3.25 including postage for 25 sheets. I will be printing Mia's invitations on this then laminating then to give them that glossy shine. You could also use metallic printer paper or card but this will do the job for me.

5th June 2013

I have decided that instead of sending out 60 wonka bars that would cost me over £100 I will be putting Mia's invites in purple envelopes from bay 50 for £3.44 including postage then sticking the wonka bar label on the front. I have made a template for this. I will also be putting a mini wonka bar in the envelope also. Will post how to do this in a new post.

Getting Started

Well when my 7 year old daughter Mia asked me for Willy Wonka themed birthday party I was so excited you would have thought it was my birthday.

Her big Day is on the 25th of August 2013 in our local rugby club for 60 kids, which gives me 11 weeks and 4 days to pull this off. I am a creative person I suppose so I will be doing this on a low budget and will be making alot of the decoration myself.

I have decided to write this blog to help any one else interested in having a Wonka party like this and will add all my notes and tips and templates on what i plan to do over the next 11 weeks. I will be adding templates and how too's for invitations  decoration, layouts games, food, candy bar. and also how to make a mini willy wonka top hat.
Let the planning begin :)
